A black glamping experience combines the joy of being outdoors with elevated comfort, culturally affirming community, and amenities that make camping feel welcoming instead of rough.
In other words: nature, music, Black joy, and a real bed. We love the outdoors, but nobody said we had to suffer for the view.
1. How to Plan a Camping Trip With Friends Without Losing Your Mind
The best group trips are not built on one superwoman doing everything. They’re built on clear roles, clear deadlines, and everybody handling their own business.

Give everybody a job
Assign these four roles before the first person says, “I thought somebody else was doing that.”
- The Planner: Keeps the master timeline, shares updates, and makes sure the group knows what is happening next.
- The Chef: Coordinates shared food, meal preferences, snacks, and the meal plan. For Homecoming 2026, the meal plan is $195 per person for six meals, from Friday lunch through Sunday breakfast.

5. Glamping Advice: Know What You’re Booking
Let’s clear up the difference between regular tent camping and glamping.
Tent camping
Traditional tent camping usually means you bring or rent your own sleeping setup. You may need a tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, lighting, and other gear. It can be fun and flexible, but it requires more planning.
A black glamping experience
Glamping is the no sleeping bag zone. At Homecoming, the glamping tent includes:
- A real bed
- Double queen or king bed plus bunk bed
- Air conditioning or heat
- Mini-fridge
- Coffee maker
- Decor
- Space for four people
Cabins sleep up to eight and include two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, den, and sleeper sofa. Villas or hotel rooms include a king bed or double queens, a mini-fridge, coffee maker, decor, and a screened porch.
Now for the honest part: glamping tents and cabins are sold out for 2026. That is your lesson for next year: plan earlier, Camp Cousin.
